This is the land of the Lunda-Chokwe people, keepers of Africa's giant sacred masks - 2-meter towering giants of wicker, barkcloth and black resin. The royal Chikunga, the initiation Mukanda, the ancestral Pwo. Not museum pieces. They dance here. For real. To turn boys into men, to call the ancestors.
