Long before modern borders were drawn,  along the banks of the Congo River, Bantu kingdoms thrived on trade, artistry, and deep spiritual traditions. Although the grand empires faded after the arrival of Portuguese explorers in the 15th century their descendants still preserved some of the sacred ways.
