Paulo Paiva’s dedication to Angola is rooted in a lifetime of observation. A civil engineer raised between the urban rhythm of Johannesburg and the historic streets of Luanda, his early fascination with Angolan architecture evolved through years of field work into a deep reverence for the country’s diverse tribal cultures.
Realizing the need for thoughtful, respectful travel into these remote regions, Paulo launched his first guided expeditions in 2014 with a modest crew of five.
Today, Last Tribes Angola is an established team of 20+ professionals—each committed to leading journeys that seamlessly blend Angola’s human heritage, architectural history, and wild geography.
